On 1 December 2026 I become IT Director at the Zdrowit Group, closing more than 10 years at Madej Wróbel. The goal: a strong IT team, KSC-compliant security and the most modern pharmacies in Poland.
A new chapter
On 1 December 2026 I take up the position of IT Director at the Zdrowit Group. With this move I am closing more than 10 years at Madej Wróbel. It has been an important period in my career, and I thank everyone I have worked with over those years.
The new role is a chance to apply my experience in systems architecture, cybersecurity and automation in an organisation that serves pharmacy patients and customers every day.
My goal
I am going to Zdrowit with a clear focus: on goals, on change and on the success of the whole IT function. I want Zdrowit Pharmacies to become the most modern pharmacy chain and to stay ahead of the competition technologically in many areas, from customer service and internal processes to data security.
Technology alone does not get you there. That is why my priority will be to develop and strengthen the structures and competencies of the IT department: clear ownership, a team that understands the pharmacy business, and people who have room to grow.
In a health-related business, IT is not an add-on. Whether systems run reliably and securely determines continuity of customer service and customers' trust in the brand. Modernity has to rest on solid foundations.
Cybersecurity, alongside AI, is today's top priority
I believe cybersecurity is now, next to artificial intelligence, the most important topic in IT. Central and Eastern Europe is in a difficult geopolitical situation, and this shapes the scale and nature of the threats companies in the region face. Attacks are no longer a problem only for large corporations or public institutions. Any organisation that people's daily lives depend on can become a target, and a pharmacy chain is certainly one of them.
That is why security cannot be a separate project running alongside development. Every new technology, AI included, has to be designed from day one with data protection and resilience in mind.
Experience I bring with me
At Madej Wróbel I was responsible for the security of an IT environment covering more than 1,000 devices. While preparing the company for NIS2 requirements, we deployed an XDR solution that lets the team respond quickly to alerts, even outside the office. We described it in a case study prepared with ESET (in Polish): “With ESET XDR we are ready for NIS2” – Case study – Madej Wróbel.
The lesson I take from that project: tools matter, but effectiveness comes from processes, people and speed of response. That is the approach I want to bring to Zdrowit.
What I will focus on
Cybersecurity and KSC compliance
Poland's amended Act on the National Cybersecurity System (KSC), which implements the NIS2 Directive, has applied since 3 April 2026. It places concrete obligations on many companies: risk management, incident handling, supplier oversight and management accountability. My task will be to put this area in order so that compliance comes from processes that actually work, not just from documents. I have written more about my approach in NIS2 for mid-sized companies and IT supply chain under Poland's amended KSC Act.
IT policies
Good IT policies are clear rules: who has access to what, how hardware and software are managed, how suppliers are selected and held to account, and what happens when something goes wrong. I want them to be short, understandable to people outside IT, and actually followed.
AI in communication and automation
The second pillar is development. I plan to introduce AI where it delivers measurable results: in communication with customers and within the organisation, and in automating repetitive processes. The principle I described in Vibe coding in business still holds: faster does not mean less accountable. Every AI deployment needs an owner, clear data protection rules and quality control.
What's next
I will keep publishing here about cybersecurity, AI and IT management. I am also happy to share lessons from the new role, within the limits of what can be said publicly.
